Building of the floating dock of project 28140C is in progress
At the end of October, the towing stage of the floating dock Project 28140C, hull No. 1091, to Arkhangelsk was completed. All ten blocks successfully arrived at the outfitting site in the waters of the “Krasnaya Kuznitsa” ship repair yard.
As of today, the joining of the blocks into a single structure has been completed thus giving the vessel’s hull its final shape. SSC PJSC has a unique technology for joining separate floating volumetric ship elements while afloat.
Together with the joining of the blocks, works on outfitting the dock with equipment and various ship systems, most of which have already been delivered to the vessel’s outfitting site have been started.
In parallel, inspection and adjustment of the already installed equipment and systems are underway as a part of the first stage of mooring trials.
Note: The vessel is designed for docking and repairing ships and vessels with a docking weight of up to 5,000 tons, including repair work, cleaning and painting of the outer hull, maintenance of bottom and side fittings, propeller and rudder systems, anchor gear, and replacement of sacrificial protection.
The dock was laid down in April 2024 Delivery is scheduled for October 2026
